I’ve been eating muesli with yogurt for lunch for years, topped with ground flax and wheat germ. Recently while searching for better ways to fuel the body during intense fencing competitions, I discovered oats are near the top of the list. Packed with complex carbs to provide a steady release of fuel and loaded with protein to rebuild those worked muscles. They taste great, help you lose weight and make for a real cheap meal.
Soaking them overnight makes them high in resistant starch which is an even better form of carbohydrate that takes longer to convert to glucose which allows for a steadier release of energy and could trigger more fat burning.
I usually make a large enough batch to last three or four days. You can even warm it up if you like.
